I made this card and it was one of those that I was not totally fond of as I was making it.  But then I thought of a technique that I had seen Joanne use quite a bit and I have to say...it is kind of cute now.  What is the technique you ask?  "Sponging or shading" the edges using Chalks and sponge daubers.  It was so easy!  I just placed the middle square of white down on a larger scrap piece of paper and then used the sponge dauber to gently rub the edges and into the middle with Taken with Teal chalk.  What a nice mellow effect. In the past I had only used a sponge and ink to shade the edges of my cards. Thanks Joanne.  Kim

Tile Class

 Lynda and I have finally worked out a date. A lot of you know Lynda, part of my fabulous down line!!! Well,  we have been talking for weeks about running a tile class. Both of us find it sooo relaxing stamping a tile and then washing it with colour, make a mistake, just wipe it off, the colour part that is.  So the class size will be limited to 10, here are all the details.

Date:  Friday April 3rd

Time:  7:00 to 9:30 

Cost:  $22.00 baked and sprayed.... $20.00 if you take them home that night.

Place:  Joanne's

Details:  You will be making 8 tiles, you have a huge selection of stamps to choose from. We have ordered some new stamps just for the class, Lexicon of Leaves, Rustic Rooster and Classic sketches, very manly and my favourite. And we will be pulling out some much loved retired sets, part of the beauty of a class!!  Whether feminine or masculine you will find a stamp to fit the bill. We have lots of craft colours to make your tiles pop and did you know that you can blend craft refills together to make tons of colours???    Both Lynda and I will be there to help you, it will be hard to keep our hands off your tiles, we just love to colour!!!! If you leave your tiles you can pick them up the following weekend.

Materials needed:   Aqua painter, stazon ink and cleaner, (not necessary, but if you have it, please bring it that way there will be no waiting.) Please consider ordering one with the stazon cleaner, ask Joanne or Lynda for details. I am putting in an order tomorrow at noon!

If you have a favourite stamp that you wish to use, bring it along, we can make it work!!

Loving our paper!

As I began cutting the paper for our paper share, I was WOW'd!  The paper in this catalogue is so beautiful.  I just couldn't wait to start making some cards using it.  This is a very standard layout that is very quick and easy.  I love it because you can put just about any sentiment on it and you have a beautiful card for any occasion.  Kim

Good morning ladies, had a couple of minutes and really wanted to make a card with my free sale-a-bration set.  So gave myself an hour and here is what I came up with.

 

I really like the Delicate dots designer paper, actually this Sahara sand print is quite lovely.

Inspired by my Valentines Card

I was sitting the other day and glanced up at the beautiful card my husband gave me for valentines day and it inspired me.  I suddenly had an idea for a card and I just had to go make it right away.  This is one of those times that I was thrilled with the results and it was sooo easy.  I can't wait to make different variations of this card.  I used shimmer white card stock to stamp on and it just looks incredible.  It generally looks like photo # 1 but depending on the angle you turn the card, you can really see the shimmer.  Kim

So Saffron, Always Artichoke and Shimmery White Card stock.  So Saffron and Always Artichoke ink pads.  Stamp-a-ma-jig for two step stamping with versa pad and gold embossing powder.  Mellow Moss gingham ribbon (retired but you could use the black gingham ribbon and ink it up).  Stamp sets are Dream a little, Petal Pizzaz and From the Heart (Retired)
